For those who are intense on computers...?

I am have a problem with my HDD. It is the one from a Toshiba Satellite M55-S325. I ponder the problem occurred when i updated Trillian. It told me that within was an update and I downloaded it. Then I restarted my computer and when I open Trillian it said it was missing a terminology and my computer froze. I held the power button down to restart it but when it tries to restart, it goes previous the windows eyeshade and a blue screen pops out really early and the laptop restarts. I am not able to read the blind at all because it is too speedy. This happened when I be working on an essay so I went to Best Buy and bought a Dynex Hard Drive Enclosure Kit and be able to extract it on my friends Apple. However, the paraphernalia is not working on any XP that i own tried and was wondering if you know why? Also, any recommendations on how to rescue my other files?? Thanks for all your backing.

Answer:

Get a windows xp cd, boot from it. when you draw from to the option install window xp, repair windows xp beside recovery console, etc. Choose taking back console by pressing R. It will ask which windows do you want to log into, choose 1. Then provide password, usually hand down it blank and just hit enter. afterwards type this exactly without the quotes, chkdsk /R. It may run for moderately a while, or it will tell you nearly what errors you have on the disk. Always my first preference as it is the least expensive but completely effective.

Good Luck!
Start your computer contained by Safe Mode and try System Restore, selecting a restore point previously you installed the update.
