How big should my harddrive be if i want to dual boot xp and vista?

I've get a 120 gb hardrive 53 gb d:drive 53 gb free 53gb :C drive (34gb free)

Answer:

If you wanted to merely dual boot, that should be enough.

If you be to install applications on both, it will fill up fairly quickly.
Don't be greedy.
i would suggest double..240gig
it depends on what you want to do 120 gigs is big satisfactory as long as you watch what you d/l. i'm not sure how much space vista take up once installed xp only take about 3 and a partially gigs . 1 question why bother dual booting beside 2 microsoft op sys get one of the linux op sys instead of vista. unless your computer have a core dual processor and minimum 2 gigs of ram you'll never boot vista once it's nearby because it's speed will disappoint you. i have kubuntu and freespire linux and i've tried them on several computers on the pentium 4 machines in attendance is no microsoft op sys anywhere near as nifty as linux on the web.probably due to not have to weigh yourself down with spyware blockers and antivirus stuff. since the user floor for linux is'nt large satisfactory for the virus writers to invest the time trying to mess with it. the best portion about linux is it's free.
a 120gb hdd should be fine but if you enjoy money to spend then catch a 200gb+ one. The bigger the better. Also for dual booting I would recommend an ide drive not a sata drive but a sata drive will work ok.
