How can i retreive background from an ibook with a insensible LogicBoard?

The logic board on my g3 ibook went late, I can hear the computer start up, but the display is not working. Is within a way to retrieve the information witout paying for a new logic board? Also I still own one working ibook, is there an smooth way to combine the two, resembling using the hard drive of the defective ibook near the working computer screen display? Or is at hand any external hard drive that can extract background just by pluging it contained by the computer?

Answer:

If your iBooks both have firewire ports, you can use Target Disk Mode to offload the 'dead' ibooks background onto the working iBooks hard drive if it have enough space to switch all the background.

If your iBook starts up try connecting it to a monitor or TV to see if it shows anything. If it does get an external drive and backup software to verbs the data to the external approaching SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner.

Last option that I know of, near might be more, is to remove the dead iBooks HDD and insert it to an external easier said than done drive enclosure w/firewire ports. PPC Macs can boot stale of external drives that have firewire ports, if the OS is installed surrounded by the drive, which the dead iBooks HDD have.

There are several possibilities, given the scenario.

1. Firewire and target mode.

2. Remove the drive and put it in a drive coop and use it as an external drive.

3. Remove both drives and put the one with the facts on it into the working computer.

4. If it's just the display, try hooking up an external monitor and see if you achieve a picture.
Pull out the hard drive and install it surrounded by a portable hard drive storage area
