how can you stop automatic downloads when you catch online.i did a systems check on my laptop and it said in the provisional files i had over 800,000 mbs downloaded while i be online last dark.does anyone know how to stop this???

Answer:

You will have to disable the automatic updating point of every software that you have get. In most of the software, like your anti-virus, anti-spyware, print editor etc., you can find the option contained by their Settings / Options / Preferences. Just disable the automatic updating and manually check and download updates once in a while.
This could also be a symptom of your own net browsing. When you donwload something it saves the downloading profile to a temp folder and then moves it to where on earth you told it to after it is finished, if you've lost a lot of downloads half-way through that could be one end in.

Also it could be a just trellis files. Over time your computer saves more and more temp files as you webrowse (JAVA applets, embeded video files, embeded music, anything that comes from a website and requires a seperate nouns time than the page is usally downloaded to a temp.) Start Internet Explorer an go to Internet Options surrounded by the tools menu. Click Delete Files and it will clear up the worst of it for you, then you can look surrounded by the temp folder and see what is left.
