How can i find the 600VA ups battery-operated backup time?
Answer:
It really depends on how advanced the UPS is. Some (more expensive) UPS's have any a display or some form of configuration that you can reach through a net interface. Failing that, you can (roughly) work it out by reading what the supply time for 600VA is (should be in the manual).
By knowing the current and voltage that the devices are drawing, you can work out the VA it would be pulling and the time the UPS would run. (a VoltAmp is the Voltage * the Current) A unpromising example is:
A kettle might pull acme 4A ON A 240v supply. 240 * 4 = 960VA
If the UPS can supply 600VA for 1 hour, then beside a load of 960VA, it would be approximatley partly that.
Just remember that devices spike, many an administrator have been caught out by turning on their CRT monitor during a power cut and draining their UPS.
Put out power cable and start timer. =)
It should be mentioned within the Manual of the mfg. company of the UPS. However, experience says, the backup time is NOT exactly matching but in lower side. You should, however, maintain the battery satisfactorily charged, as instructed in the Manual.
Control Panel > Power Option> UPS> spectacle status
