I want something next to at least this trait for my notebook. I have a customized Toshiba Satellite P200 and I be told that the 7600 w/ 512 m would burn out my notebook. So what are my options? And where on earth can I purchase?
Answer:
first of all you can't upgrade the graphics card surrounded by a notebook, but there are some exceptions.
within case you enjoy the onboard graphics GMA950 (Intel chipset 945gm) then it's without a solution.
in overnight case you have already a better graphics card similar to the GeForce Go 7200, 7300 or 7400 there might be a possibility to upgrade to a Go 7600, but this can be done lone by the manufacturer and cost a fortune.
will it work or burn it out?
the Satellite P200 is configured for an enhanced graphics cards, but i'm not sure as i don't know what graphics card you currently hold.
concerning your other questions:
where on earth to buy? no one sell graphics cards for notebooks (not even Newegg or Tigerdirect). within very few and far between cases you might find one on ebay, but i've never seen a Go 7600 nearby. in overnight case you find one, you have to be a computer professional to install it, but it wouldn't work if the current graphics is a GMA 950 due to the wrong chipset.
difference between the cards 7600, 7600GS, 7600GT ?
this is the ascending writ of the GPU performance and also of the price of these cards.
