Help! I received a rock-hard drive from Dell for me to reinstall?

on my laptop inspiron e1505. however, i'm have problems starting the laptop. They are not being advantageous and I don't know what to do. I also think they give me a refurbish hard drive. Does anybody know what pr2...done money when starting the computer? Did I mention, my warranty is expering this weekend.Thanks
