I've have this problem with my laptop not playing sounds when I try to play a DVD. It'll play CDs and regular nouns on the laptop, but when I put in a movie, within will be no volume and all the settings are unfolding me that everything is installed properly and the volume is up, etc. This has happen before. It'll work for a while later suddenly STOP giving me volume and the only agency I've fixed it is by wiping the rugged drive. What does that mean is wrong next to it?? Is there some route I can fix it without wipe the hard drive again? I don't even know why that fixes it, but it does. This is on adjectives media players (windows, existing, etc)

Could be a codec problem , try download Klite mega codec from www.codecguide.com ,hope that helps.
